Celebrity mentors such as Morgan Freeman, Garry Marshall, Ed Begley Jr., David Koechner, Bobb’e J. Thompson, Judith Hoag and Tim Bagley were on hand to make this experience even more magical.

JasonBaldari: on Syfy’s ‘Haven’ & the new Starz series ‘Boss’

Jason Baldari of PietariCreative.com and JasonBaldari.com has been rockin VFX for the TV shows ‘Haven’(SyFy) and ‘Boss’(Starz). Working with the company Go Blue VFX in Hollywood, Jason is currently in the role of digital compositor.

Making use of Imagineer Systems’ Mocha and it’s advanced planar tracking tools along with Adobe After Effects, he has been creating monitor burn-ins (tracking and insertion of digital footage onto practical on-set green screen covered monitors), rig / hot spot removals, blemish removals, and paint outs.

Pietari Creative editor – Stacy Pietrafitta – had the distinct honor of being asked to edit a compilation tribute reel for Oscar Winning Film Editor Alan Heim.

Heim’s work includes: Network, Funny Farm, She’s Having a Baby, Copycat, American History X, The Notebook, Grey Gardens and many more. The tribute reel was shown as part of LAFCPUG’s speaker series hosted by Michael Horton.

Pietrafitta has just finished up on the 20th Century Fox lot assistant editing and post coordinating on a FOX digital comedy series.

The series was shot on RED, one light + transcode with RedCine-X and edited in Final Cut Pro.

Below are some fun pictures from set! Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts the show had an amazingly comedic cast with guest appearances that included Lance Bass, Jaleel White, Tony Kaye and Fran Kranz.
